"The following
is an account of the effectiveness testing
of the Phoenix Airport Wailer MK IIIa as a
Bird Deterrent conducted at Yarmouth
Airport. For clarification I am presenting
this to you in the form of a technical
report. The Phoenix Airport Wailer MK IIIa
is very effective as a bird deterrent at
airports and has the capacity to render
its effective coverage area almost
completely free of birds. From our
experience it should not be considered to
a bird scare device but rather as a bird
deterrent system in that it appears to
create and environment of sound that birds
find uncomfortable which causes them to
move away from the area slowly rather than
being startled and moving out immediately.
When properly deployed, the Phoenix
Airport Wailer MK IIIa can be extremely
effective in reducing bird numbers and
thus bird strikes by aircraft at
airports."

"Recently we completed a four-week,
field trial on the Phoenix Airport Wailer
MK IIIa. The unit was installed to cover
3000 feet of our main runway where we were
having a problem with gulls. After the
device was started it virtually sterilized
that portion of the runway. There were no
gulls observed in the area for the
duration of the trial, but they returned
the day after the unit was removed. The
Phoenix Airport Wailer MK IIIa was very
effective and the fact that it requires no
propane, guns, or explosives makes it a
safe, maintenance-free system and a plus
in our opinion."
